Higino Crescencio ARMANDO ANDRE

Hello everyone. I am Higino ANDRE, from the most beautiful and peaceful country of Africa, Republic of Mozambique. The country has borders with Tanzania and Malawi to the north, Zambia and Zimbabwe to the west, and Swaziland and South Africa to the south. Portuguese is the official, and most widely spoken of the languages, although Bantu languages are predominately spoken away from the larger towns.

I have done my Bachelor in Agrarian Sciences at Mussa Bin Bique University – Nampula Province in 2008. Later, I attended different short courses: Rural Extension (Mozambique, 2010); Adaptation of small farmers to global markets (China, 2011); Rural Development for the promotion of agriculture in underdeveloped countries (Japan, 2011) and short Training in Saemaul Undong approach (South Korea, 2012).

In 2008, right after my Bachelor, I worked at CISTER MOZAMBIQUE as technician, promoting the production and commercialization of beans. Later (2009), I worked as responsible of Agriculture Department at Project Mond Mlal - program of social reintegration of inmates. Since 2010, I have been working for the Government of Mozambique – Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG), at Provincial Directorate of Agriculture - Nampula. My major responsibilities are to provide assistance and training to smallholder farmer in new agriculture approaches, such as production, storage, processing and commercialization. At the same time (2008 – 2012), I was Universitary teacher.

In my personal life I am married and I am blessed with one handsome and lovely son called Ikhel ANDRE (07 months old). My beloved wife is Inédia ANDRE who works in the Bank.

I strongly believe that after this course of MSC in Agriculture and Rural Development in Hankyong National University, Korea under the auspicious of KOICA, I’ll be able to contribute on good way to increase the agriculture production and productivity and thus promote the development of rural areas in my country.

ANDRE, Higino C. A.
